ARCHITECTURAL IMAGINATIONS

I have always been drawn to architecture, particularly the architecture of New Belgrade, where I grew up surrounded by the buildings of Blocks 61, 62 and 63. Their repetition and carefully structured rhythm suggested abstract geometric forms, while their monumental scale often made them appear almost sculptural.

In the Architectural Imaginations series, I explore these buildings by removing the everyday context in which they are normally perceived. Stripped of their surroundings and their function as places in which people live and move, they become isolated architectural forms — monumental objects in their own right.

Starting from photographs of the buildings, I digitally transform their proportions and perspective, deliberately exaggerating their verticality and scale. By viewing them from below, I emphasise their imposing presence and create a sense of monumentality and awe similar to the experience of standing before an immense structure.
