REPETITIONS
The Repetitions series grew out of my exploration of rhythm and repetition as fundamental principles of visual language. Growing up in a modernist neighbourhood surrounded by rows of almost identical buildings led me to reflect on repetition and its role in shaping both space and the way we perceive our surroundings.
This experience became the starting point for exploring the visual possibilities of repetition in painting. By multiplying and varying the same elements, I investigate how repetition can generate rhythm, harmony and visual movement. Although the compositions are based on a common principle, each develops its own rhythm, energy and distinctive relationship between form, colour and space.
Within these subtle variations, I recognise the possibility of creating new visual relationships from what initially appears to be the same. Repetition thus becomes more than monotony — it becomes a space of freedom, creation and continuous transformation.
